Painting can be a daunting endeavor for anyone, even a seasoned draftsman who feels comfortable working with pencils, pens, charcoal, markers, etc. If you have ever wanted to learn to use acrylic paints to capture still life, scenery, landscapes, and/or portraits, this course is made for you. Using the elements and principles of art and design, students will learn basic to advanced color theory, brush techniques, and surface preparation to render objects, scenery, and portraiture. Students do not need fancy materials or a fancy studio setup. Some basic drawing skills are ideal but not necessary.
Class format: We will meet together using Zoom video conferencing. An invite will be emailed to you before the first class session, and you'll need internet access on your computer, tablet, or phone to participate.
