Collage In The Time Of Surrealism

Collage In The Time Of Surrealism

Tue | Aug 18-Aug 25 | 7:00 PM-8:00 PM
2 Weeks
Ages: Adults (16+) | $30 | Paco Colom

Surrealism comes from the realm of dreams, from the subconscious.  André Bretón one of the leaders of the surrealist period, said “...the aim of surrealism is to resolve the previously contradictory conditions of dream and reality into an absolute reality, a super-reality..."

You will learn about surrealism and how Collage was used as a medium to create surrealist art. You will create your own "super-reality" by letting your imagination go to unexpected places.

The class will encourage you to think visually and choose juxtaposed unrelated and contradictory images to create a new image.

The class is ideal for beginners and those with limited experience collaging, but all are welcome to join.

This class will be held in two 1 hour sessions via Zoom with homework in between.
