Students begin with basic exercises to sharpen their observation and drawing skills. These skills become the foundation for learning about color and its role with values, shapes and spaces, and the natural world around us. Work from still life and photos, and if weather allows, work outside. Some experience with drawing and colored media such as watercolor painting is helpful but not required. A desire to discover and grow in both black/white and colored media (dry or oil pastels, colored pencil, watercolor) are essential. Students will provide their own materials.
Note: this class may be taken virtually and there will be a Zoom link available for all indoor sessions.
