This class is for anyone who has ever been curious about monotype printing. Have you ever seen a print and asked yourself. "How did they make this?" Come learn how. This class is designed for the beginner as well as the more experienced printmaker. I will introduce a wide variety of techniques in printmaking but will also provide opportunities for those familiar with the techniques to branch out and personalize their printing sessions. A monotype is a drawing with ink on a non-absorbent flat surface that is run through a press and transferred to a sheet of paper. The class will cover subtractive, additive, layering, collograph, viscosity, trace monotype to name a few techniques. Come learn the tools of the printmaker and the unique qualities of Akua Inks. Students will provide their own materials.
