Have you ever been curious about monotype printing? This week-end workshop will introduce monotype printing techniques and Akua Inks. A monotype is a drawing or painting with ink on a non-absorbent flat surface such as metal or plexiglass. When it is run through a printing press, the medium is transferred to a sheet of paper. There will be lots of demonstrations with a variety of techniques. There will be time for practice and creating with individual guidance from the instructor. There is a certain unpredictability in making a print, which makes for an exciting time! Learn the tools of the printmaker, the unique qualities of Akua Inks and leave with a better understanding of the monotype print. All Levels Welcome. Students will provide their own materials.
