Throwing Large Clay Forms

This course is for students who can already throw an 8-inch tall cylinder. Learn how to create larger thrown forms through various tricks and techniques from throwing and joining multiple forms to adding coils on the wheel to your form. The instructor will demonstrate and pose challenges to the students as they throw, practice, recycle forms and throw again! Students will be given 25lbs of clay for 3-week class. They will schedule a 1-2hr glazing time in our studio to complete forms once bisque fired.

EAC CLAY STUDIO POLICIES SUMMER 2020
No one may enter EAC if they are sick, have a fever, or have been in contact with anyone who is suspected of having COVID-19.
Each time you enter EAC you must follow the protocol below.
Sign into EAC log book with your contact information.
Wear a face mask the entire time that you are in the building. No exceptions.
Wash hands with soap and water or sanitizer upon arrival.
Maintain 6 feet of distance from others.
Abstain from eating food inside the building. Abstain from drinking water in the clay studio. Bring your own water bottle and take breaks to drink water outside of the clay studio.
EAC will run our air conditioning to cool the clay studio, but students may not use fans.
Only one student allowed at a time at Glazing Station to maintain social distancing.
At clean up, sanitize any EAC tools that you use and your work area.
Students will be asked to leave if they are not following our safety guidelines.
EAC will only provide mid-fire white stoneware clay this summer. 
Additional bags of clay are not available for the summer session. 
Open studio hours are not a part of our summer program due to limited students allowed in the building.
